These trips are dedicated to honoring Veterans, and limited space and resources must remain focused on serving as many Veterans as possible. In addition, experience has shown that the camaraderie and shared experiences among fellow Veterans can be meaningful and healing.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure every Veteran receives the support they need, Western ND Honor Flight provides Honor Flight volunteers and medical staff who are available throughout the trip to assist with additional care and support.<\/p>\n<div data-columns=\"2\" data-layout=\"66-33\">\n<div>\n<div style=\"width: 33%;\">\n<div>\n<p><!-- \/wp:button --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/wp:coblocks\/column --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- \/wp:coblocks\/row --><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a7220a9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a7220a9\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-28ab7a9\" data-id=\"28ab7a9\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-10f4c33 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"10f4c33\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Duties of a Guardian<\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Guardian will stay in the same hotel room with the Veteran.<\/li>\n<li>The Guardian must be able to push the wheelchair of the Veteran, if needed.<\/li>\n<li>The Guardian must be able to carry their own luggage as well as the Veteran\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li>The Guardian must understand the Veteran\u2019s medical conditions, medications, and care requirements.<\/li>\n<li>You must be able to assist with lifting and mobility services to the Veteran you are a Guardian for, if needed. This requires all Guardians to be in good physical shape.<\/li>\n<li>Please be aware that the Honor Flight committee may ask you to assist with other Veterans.<\/li>\n<li>The Guardian will not leave the Veteran unattended at any time.<\/li>\n<li>Spouses, significant others, partners, or fianc\u00e9es are not eligible to serve as Guardians.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The fee for a Guardian is $1,400.00<\/strong>, which will cover airline, hotel, bus and meals.\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Submit payment online at westernndhf.org by selecting <strong>Forms and Applications<\/strong>, then <strong>Pre-Flight Forms-Volunteers\/Guardians<\/strong>. Scroll to <strong>For Guardians<\/strong> and click <a href=\"https:\/\/westernndhf.org\/?page_id=3765\"><strong>Guardian Payment Form<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You can also mail the check to Western ND Honor Flight, P.O. Box 265, Bismarck, ND 58502.\u00a0 Guardian fee should be paid before the pre-flight meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><strong>GENERAL INFORMATION:<\/strong>\u00a0Your name must match\u00a0<strong>EXACTLY<\/strong> to the government issued picture I.D. that you plan to use at the airport security checkpoints.
